Professional Support for Better Mental Health

Moving you from stuck to successful

If your mental health is keeping you stuck, lost or in survival mode, then Black Dog Therapy is for you.

We strive to empower you to be the best version of yourself.

Therapies & Support tailored to you

We purposefully blend our techniques and skills to support your change; below are some of the therapies we offer. We discuss and outline the benefits of the techniques before you consent to therapy.

EFT, also known as 'Tapping' is a blend of 2000 year old acupuncture  and modern-day psychology.

The client is shown how to tap with their fingers on a set pattern of acupuncture points, whilst focusing on emotional or physical sensations to calm the nervous system and help restore the body’s natural balance.

Stress, emotions, pain, anxiety, phobias etc can all cause blockages in the flow of energy through the body. By gently tapping at the end of these energy pathways we can free these blockages.

Unlike some complimentary therapies, the client does not need to believe in the process for it to work. Tapping can be a liberating experience and once the process is learnt, the client can take it away and work on issues in their own time as a powerful strategy in their emotional toolkit or as part of their own self-care.

Please do reach out to Kate or Luke, if you have any questions or if you'd like to discuss how this technique can help you.

Kate's practice at Black Dog Therapy changed when she started studying and practicing Havening Techniques in 2020.

This simple, yet highly effective practice, involving using your hands to gently stroke your palms together, your arms and/or face is transformative.

Gentler and less intrusive than other therapies, Havening has consistently been kinder on the clients who attend for trauma support.

Havening touch may be coupled with:

* gentle exploration of how you are feeling

* talking through emotional blocks

* re-visiting difficult memories

* noticing how your body feels/ holds pain, tension or other sensations

* distraction or guided exercises

*exploring alternative outcomes or endings

* affirmations

If you are interested to know more about Havening and how it may help you and your mental health, please do get in touch.

We use hypnosis as a tool to support you to make positive changes to how you think, feel and respond to everyday situations.

By working with your unconscious mind we can help you to pinpoint unhelpful thoughts, past triggers and let go of out of date programs.

How can hypnosis help?

Some psychological models suggest that hypnosis can help, where logic has failed, because we are directly influencing your unconscious mind to find ways around some of the natural barriers we put up during times of stress or mental challenge.

In a therapy session you are always in control. We use your words, your vision and your goals to bring about the changes that you want.

Like other therapies, hypnotherapy is not a cure or an immediate fix. Therapy requires commitment to change from you.

Please get in touch with Kate or Luke if you have any questions.
